Course Introduction

Basic Operator Training must take place ‘off the job’. It covers the practical skills and knowledge required to operate safely.

This course aims to provide effective basic operator training for those operators who will be required to operate industrial forklift trucks as part of their normal work duties.

This operator training course is designed to meet the requirements placed upon employers with regard to their duties under the Health and Safety act 1974 and meets the requirement to satisfy the Health & Safety Executives “Approved Code of Practice L117” for Forklift Trucks.

This Conversion Course is aimed at operators that have been trained on one type of Forklift Truck and now wish to add another type to their skill set – e.g. they have been qualified on a Counterbalance Truck and are now adding Reach Truck skills or vice-versa.

This course is designed for certified forklift operators who are looking to expand their skills onto a different type of truck—such as converting from a Counterbalance to a Reach truck, or moving to a Bendi/Pivot Steer machine. It is ideal for experienced drivers who already understand core workplace safety and basic operational principles, but need specialized practical training on the handling characteristics, controls, and stability of a new vehicle type.
